Greystones Group has been invited to speak at the 2011 Army Distributed Learning (dL) Conference sponsored by the  Army Training Support Center, Ft. Eustis, Virginia (ATSC). The conference will be held June 21st through June 23rd, 2011 at the City Center Marriott, Newport News, Virginia. At the conference, Greystones Group will present Knowledge Management Technologies for Dummies: knowledge management product development expertise and system development lessons learned. Additionally, they will provide a lessons learned discussion of their Knowledge Mart Plus software, a one-of-a-kind software product that combines data management and presentation capability in one package. ATSC manages, plans, integrates, implements, and sustains specific Training Support System programs, products, services and facilities that support training across all training domains, the Army Training and Doctrine Command’s (TRADOC) core missions and the Army. The dL Conference is the premier event for ATSC to further this mission.  As part of the dL conference, special attention will be paid to the Army Learning Concept 2015 (ALC 2015.) ALC 2015 is an important component of TRADOC’s ongoing Campaign of Learning and will describe the learning environment envisioned in 2015.

Greystones Group has been invited to visit Oak Ridge National Laboratories on March 9, 2011 for an entry submitted by one of its Technical Managers, Jay Park Graven, to the DARPA DMACE (Digital Manufacturing Analysis, Correlation and Estimation) Challenge. The DMACE Challenge highlighted the capabilities of digital manufacturing and expanded the understanding of the science involved. DARPA digitally manufactured several complex structures and conducted a series of structural load tests upon them. Data from the manufacture and load tests were posted at their website. Participants were challenged to develop a correlation model that accurately correlates DM machine inputs to output structural test data. Participant models were evaluated by their ability to predict the test results of the final DM structures. Greystones Group final round estimates submitted in the DMACE Challenge were a result of symbolic regression optimization applied to a set of data modeling functions.
